I have recently struggled with how to define my role and our business. What do we do? Right now I answer "We make custom home decor", which is pretty vague, but it's the best way to capture all we do in a nutshell. We have hand painted items, we still love and use vinyl, I'm branching out as well and trying some other new things which I will write about on here.
Caleb and I have been married for 6 years and have a wonderful little boy who was born in December 08, Joshua, who is the light of our lives. God has brought us through some amazing times, both good and bad, which we will write about on here, we have what I feel is a wonderful testimony about God's goodness and grace, He was involved in how we met, our first baby, and even through our two babies we lost in December of 2011 and June 2009 through miscarriage. I feel like the purpose of this blog is for you to see we are human, like you, we struggle..and have great times as well, and I hope this blog will bring you some inspiration and help you with your walk with the Lord. Yes, I want to promote our business on here and show off a little of what we can do, but I also want you to get to know "The Hill's" and I want to get to know you as well!
People have asked where our name comes from: One of my favorite Bible verses is Psalm 127:3-5, "Children are a heritage of the Lord and the fruit of the womb is His reward. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them." As you may guess "Heritage" comes from this passage. Our children (though we have only one with us on Earth right now) are our heritage and we started this business in hopes that one day I could run the business full time and stay at home with any children we have. As of November 2011 I was able to live that dream, and have been doing so ever since. I live a dream. It is the absolute hardest job I have ever had, trying to run a house and a business, but by far the most rewarding. I love it when people tell me how our work is so special to them. We thank God for using us to help create something special for people to cherish for a lifetime.
With much love and Blessings to you,
Trista Hill
